contact us when you find a way that suits you best.
Donations from Friends and Family
Make Regular Contributions:
Ask your family, friends and colleagues to make an annual or monthly tax-deductible contribution to FKS.
Give to FKS in Lieu Gifts:
Instead of receiving or giving presents for birthdays/holidays suggest that a donation be made to FKS
Host a FKS Birthday Party:
Throw a birthday party as a FKS fundraiser; ask for a donation as a gift.
Host a FKS “Mixer”:
Invite your family, friends and/or colleagues to a FKS fundraising presentation and reception.
Local Community Participation
“Change for Change” Drive:
Ask your child’s school to participate in a FKS “Change for Change” Drive. The Drive begins with a FKS presentation. For two weeks, all the students collect spare change from their families and friends. Often times, classes compete for the most money raised and have a party afterwards.
Collect Money with “Bangla Boxes”:
Charming recycled boxes are decorated by children and then distributed to local retail stores to use for collecting spare change from customers. In Carbondale, Illinois, many shops have placed a “Bangla Box” next to their cash register. Every two weeks, children who volunteer for FKS visit each store to collect the change. Or simply give a box to a friend or family member to collect change in their home.
Passing the Basket:
Ask your church or another local church to “pass the basket” for FKS.
Zakaat:
Donate your `Eid zakaat or ask your masjid to make a collection of `Eid zakaat and donate it to FKS.
Community Service Groups:
Ask your community service groups, i.e., Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, Elks Club, Lions Club, etc... to make a direct donation, or to make FKS a recipient of their fundraising activities.
Shopping for For Kids' Sake
Do Your On-Line Shopping at iGive.com:
Up to 26% of your online purchases can be donated to FKS.
Purchase FKS-Sponsored Bangladeshi Handcrafts:
Available by request.
Sell Bangladeshi Handcrafts at Local Festivals and Craft Fairs:

Business Donations
Talk to Businesses:
Ask a business to make a tax-deductible donation.
Matching Donations:
Many businesses will match an employee’s donation to a not-for-profit organization. If your business does not have an active matching donation program, ask that they start one.
Business Profit Sharing:
Donate a percentage of your income, or add a nominal fee to your business service fee that can be donated to FKS.
Make an In-Kind Contribution:
Donate surplus inventory or out-dated equipment. Previous donations have included blankets, video equipment and toys.
Organize Your Own Project
Teach a Class:
Teach a class and donate a percentage of the proceeds to FKS.
Organize a Read-a-Thon:
Initiate a Read-a-Thon at your child’s school. The children collect pledges from their families and friend to donate a fixed amount for every page they read in a dedicated period of time.
Organize a Walk-a-Thon:
Raise money through Walk-a-Thon entry fees, pledges and sponsorships from local businesses. Make it a splash and take it city-wide!
Organize a Clothing Exchange:
Invite your friends to donate their stylish clothes. Set up a boutique and raise funds through entry fees and sale proceeds to be donated to FKS.
Host a Benefit Dinner Party:
Cook or cater a delicious meal, and raise funds through ticket sales to be donated to FKS.
Organize a Benefit Concert:
Ask a band to donate the proceeds of their concert to FKS.
