2010 Progress Report

  • Awarded "Best School" in the district for outstanding scores on the national exam, Ibrahimpur's highest scholastic achievement
  • Improved the quality of education by providing advanced teacher training, hiring nine teachers and appointing a house tutor at every orphanage
  • Added three vocational training programs of basic computer skills, sewing and aquaculture at Ibrahimpur
  • Completed the first year of operating our Girls Dormitory at Ibrahimpur with the graduation of eleven students
  • Took the first step towards our Girls Orphanage by enrolling our first young orphan girls in the Dormitory
  • Upgraded children's facilities in Satbaria with the addition of a second story to the orphanage building
  • Provided free medical care to every orphan at Ibrahimpur including weekly check-ups at our new on-site clinic
  • Received 200 "bed kits" from the Dhaka Rotary Club and SCAW Canada of clothing, shoes, towels and toiletries
  • Received funding from Bangladeshi supporter to buy generators that make our facilities more sustainable

2009 Progress Report

  • Inaugurated our first Girl’s Dormitory, which now houses 22 young women who also attend our Ibrahimpur School
  • “Best in the District” was awarded to our Satbaria and Ibrahimpur Schools when 100% of the 10th & 12th grade students passed the national government exam
  • Added new classrooms to our Amirabad and Ibrahimpur School buildings
  • Opened the first high school science laboratory in Nabinagar County at our Ibrahimpur School
  • Installed a Bio-Gas Facility that processes manure into cooking gas for 600 children’s meals per day at our Ibrahimpur Facility
  • Tripled the size of our irrigation business in Ibrahimpur. Three times as many local farmers have been enabled to double their annual harvest
